Haven't really blogged in a while, i think for me getting words down is harder than just posting endless doodles. Had a good time at lil india with kevin and chris, consuming dosai masalas and listening to some good indie pop courtesy of Furniture. Lately i've been feeling like everyone is very caught up in doing things, running little races and chasing a lot of different things. As a very chill type of dude I kind of get overwhelmed at such fast paces, need to slow down and enjoy life a bit.

Some people I miss just hanging out with, joking and laughing instead of worrying about what other people think.
Some people I miss hanging out with, not having to hear the little details that make me sad, not having to think they are too consumed by something that will work out in the end anyway

Started a sketch and doodle blog with a friend from sydney, kinda to motivate ourselves to draw more and slack less.. ;)
There's nothing there now but check back next week or so!

What having nothing to do in office results in...

I think a lot of Singaporeans' blogs will be littered with photos of limited toys, tshirts and other collectibles from the IDN05 design conference but I and a lot of other serious designers can only bew disappointed at their obviously commercial biased choice of presenters and what can only be described as selfish use of international brand names.
This is my first design conference and after hearing of last year's IDN conference's success and the diversity of designers I was quite excited about coming to a place to be inspired. But all i got was a couple of dudes who have no idea how to present their ideas or philosophy playing a couple of videos and slideshows to some bad trip hop music...
Another sad thing beside the emptiness of the conference was seeing what i think is the worst part of the design scene all in one place. Basically all those assholes who attend events like IDN to buy limited ed. tshirts and merchandise. These "design scenesters" will definitely be busy tonight loading up photos of the latest toys on their blogs tonight. Well screw you guys, I'm going back to my drawing board...

been having a case of drawing and writing block for the past week, wanting to just work on inspiration rather than need...
